Grazie Mary, You're Making Us Proud

Mary you are a tireless human being

Congratulations to the Chairperson Mary Mauti and her committee Donna Battiston, Cathy Baxter, Dina Longo and Enza Fierro for another successful event. The committee is overjoyed after this year’s River Ball. Through the generous contributions of our sponsors and community members, we are thrilled to announce that an incredible $650,000 and counting was raised in support of Humber River Health.
Thank you to everyone who joined us in highlighting the remarkable work of the “2024 No limit Award” recipient Terry Leon and his critical work within Humber River Healths’ Apotex Emergency department.
The evening was enhanced by the emcee, Breakfast Television’s Devo Brown and the amazing performances by North FIRE Circus and after-party music by Dj Prodiigy.
A special thank you to our volunteers for their invaluable contributions. Their unwavering support fuels our commitment to serving the local community and your dedication ensured the success of this event. Together we are making a difference that truly matters.

Complimenti Mary

Congratulations to Mary Mauti who chaired another successful event “Walk So Kids Can Talk”. Representation from all three levels of government and EMCEE Rahim Ladhani (CTV weekend news anchor and journalist) enhanced the running of the event at Boyd Park in Vaughan.
Kids Help Phone is a charitable organization providing professional counselling services to youth.  The counsellors are always there, supporting young people wherever and whenever they need help.  This past weekend we at York Region hosted the annual Walk So Kids Can Talk, which raises funds and awareness for youth across the country, struggling with social and emotional issues.
Mary Mauti, chair of the event extremely devoted and proud to have created and chaired this event for the last 23 years, thanked everyone involved for continuing to send a positive message to the youth and for fostering a safe and supportive place for them to live. One in two young people are experiencing depression or anxiety. And of the kids who are struggling, 50% are navigating their mental health alone.
Spirit of Generosity was provided by Vaughan’s Mayor Steven Del Duca in the amount of $5 000 to recognize the efforts of York Region Kids Help Phone. Rain or shine the walk continues.
York Region celebrated over 23 years in the making of this fund raising for Kids Help Phone.  York Region comes in 2nd in Canada, for its fund raising efforts.  On this day, Nationally, our aim is to raise $4M dollars.
