Last week the Hon. Fucsia Nissoli, elected deputy in North and Central America, spoke at the conference organized by the Ontario Lazio Federation. During the Conference, coordinated by Cav. Tony Porretta and Dr. Vittorio Coco, in addition to Nissoli, the President Marino Moscone, the MEP Lorenzo Cesa, the mayor of Pontinia, Dr. Carlo Medici spoke.

 the lawyer Felice Rocca, Dr. Minotti Mazzuca, Dr. Claudia Machiella, the lawyer. Carlo Consiglio, the lawyer. Luigi Sarpi, who presented the pictorial exhibition on Lazio landscapes, and Dr. Pietro Vitelli who presented his book entitled “Fiorina”.

Today there is an ad in the Globe and Mail congratulating Mary Mauti as one of the top 5 individual fundraisers across Canada in support of Kids Help Phone. Well Done!
Sunday May 7, 2023, residents of Vaughan marked the end of Mental Health Week at Boyd Park in Woodbridge with “Walk so Kids can Talk” in support of Kids Help Phone –  Over 10000 calls a day from kids in need of support takes place across Canada. Thank you to Mary Mauti, Chair for York Region on organizing this successful event in Vaughan.
In particular, Nissoli recalled that “the Lazio Federation of Ontario celebrates this year , its 31 years of activity. A constant presence that has developed over time also with appropriate statutory adjustments up to the present day, bringing together the Lazio associations operating in Ontario under a single acronym “.
The deputy stressed that the social commitment of the Federation is “an important commitment that finds its culmination in these three days where history, food and wine and the awards to 4 illustrious Lazio are combined as well as the scholarship” for Humanity “entitled to Leopolda Restaini. All aspects that express our cultural heritage that originates in a central area in the history of humanity. A commitment – concluded Nissoli – which is also realized in solidarity with the city of Amatrice hit by the earthquake ”.

The 13th Annual Mississauga Italfes

Mississauga Italfest is Mississauga’s premier Italian festival celebrating Italian Heritage. The 13th Annual Mississauga Italfest was another very successful event which took place on Friday evening August 22 and all day Saturday August 23 with many activities and displays from the Sicily Region which this year was being hosted by the Mississauga Italfest 2025. Title sponsor of this year’s event was Solmar. EMCEES were Andrea Trentadue and Frank Spadone. 
Heritage Awards were given to Sam Ciccolini for the first Legacy Award, the Luis Jannetta Youth Heritage Award to Maurizio Gioffre, Italfest Family Award to the Aldo and Noreen Lista Family and the Johnny Lombardi Award to Aldo Costantino. Presentations were also made from different level of governments. Direct from Italy to entertain were Pino Gioia, Giuseppe Gambi and the Little Tony Family with many other local entertainers. The crowd enjoyed the colourful costumes and displays from the Sicily Region, the many activities, food, entertainment and all that is Italian. Many government dignitaries were present to enhance the event and also the Consul General of Italy to Toronto Luca Zelioli.
